❄Gazebo + Bedroom Extension, Mukinduri Road 🛋
- Location: Mukinduri Road, Kenya
- Status: Completed 2025
- Scope: Structural Retrofit | Design + Build
- Team Lead: Brian Situma
🔍Project Overview
What do you do with a disused circular underground water tank? At Bridan Design Build, we turned it into a one-of-a-kind sunken gazebo and attached a modern one-bedroom extension — blending reuse, engineering innovation, and landscape harmony. This creative retrofit project was designed to repurpose existing infrastructure while dealing with extreme ground conditions due to deep black cotton soil. The result is a tranquil retreat surrounded by lush gardens — structurally sound, visually stunning.
- Structural design of suspended beam-and-block slab system to span across unstable soil
- Conversion of a circular tank into a usable sunken lounge + bar area
- Design and construction of an attached 1-bedroom wing with bathroom and kitchenette
- Custom floor plan layout maximizing compact space + curved geometry integration
- Landscaping and natural light orientation
